One of the insights that stood out to me was Art Therapy being an essential element/activity for girls living in the shelter. The girls pointed out that its an important activity that they enjoy and the counselors at the shelter emphasized on this as well. There are different sessions like drawing and cultural dancing done as part of the art therapy and these activities are usually done by volunteers. I have come to realize the importance of this to the girls yet there’s a gap in between people who provide these service. So I believe this is a great insight to be addressed to the right person or organization who can help out in supporting or making this service available at the shelter.
